Petersburg City
The region's historic core: Old Towne on the Appomattox River, Petersburg National Battlefield, and rowhouse-and-cottage housing stock at the junction of I-95 and I-85.
Colonial Heights City
A compact suburban city of about eight square miles between the Appomattox River and Swift Creek, with the region's main retail corridor around Southpark Mall.
Hopewell City
A working river city where the Appomattox meets the James. City Point holds Grant's 1864-65 Civil War headquarters, and the riverfront neighborhoods sit minutes from the region's industrial employers.
